National Premier Sale
The National Stud farm holds an annual sale of Malaysian Bred two year olds in the magnificient setting of the National Stud Farm. Not only have these "local breds" acheived excellent financial results for their owners in Malaysian bred races but increasingly these horses are out and winning against all commers in "open" races.
Generous bonuses are paid to owners of our Malaysian bred horses when they win against imported horses in open company and show to the world that in a short time these horses will be matching strides with the best in the Asian region. These results bear testament to the dedication and commitment by many people in the development of the locally bred Malaysian Thoroughbred.
It was at the instigation of Malaysia's revered first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj, that thoroughbreds should be bred in the Tropics. We can be sure that he would be proud of the continuance and fullfilment of his ambitious dream.
Febuary 2012 sees another quality catalogue of Malaysian born two year olds to be offered for unreserved sale at the stud farm. These horses are not only by resident stallions but also by young and exciting Australian bred sires.
